Wolden Garden Centre was established in 1964 as a small growing business, with only a small greenhouse and portable shed. The family started out their business by growing alpines before slowly expanding to grow and sell more, moving to bare-root trees, shrubs, roses and Dutch bulbs, all sold and grown as seasons demanded.
The garden centre continued to grow selling more and more garden supplies, adapting to the growing trends of gardening, sundries, compost, tools and fertilisers became standard stock at Woldens. In later years the greenhouse and car parks were also expanding to allow for the growing business.
In 2002 the family took a huge step and opened The Greenhouse Café, named by the eldest granddaughter. This coffee shop has had several expansions since and continues to be a huge success.
In 1964, we started out selling just a few plants grown from seed. Now, over 50 years later, the business has blossomed into what it is today.
It is because we are a family business that we care so much about we sell.
We pride ourselves on offering you the best quality plants, trees and shrubs, as well as expert advice to help you make the most of your garden.
Of course, it's not just plants we sell now. We also stock a wide range of garden buildings, garden furniture, stoneware, BBQs, garden essentials, wild bird and pet care products, gift ware, cards and books.
So whether you're an experienced gardener or one just starting out, whether you need practical advice or some inspiration, you'll find everything you need at Woldens to create your very own outdoors.
